It is that time of year when all the holiday parties are over, there are no more big-game parties to worry about…so now it is your time to do something to get back into a healthy lifestyle! So why not join me on February 15th and start the 24 day Advocare Challenge!
What is the 24 day Challenge?
Simply put: it’s a weight loss program…but not just any weight loss program. On the Advocare Challenge program, normal (as in really normal) people have been losing up to 9 inches and 12lbs – in just 24 days.
I am offering a free week to anyone new to Giant Strides through the month of February. All classes are offered at Windgate Ranch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:45 AM or 9:00 AM. You can sign up on the Giant Strides Website.
On February 15th, Danielle will begin the Advocare 24 Day Challenge to help get back into shape after having her baby. Who out there wants to join her? The Challenge is a great way to help clean up your eating habits, whether you overindulged during the holidays, at the Superbowl, or perhaps ate a little too much candy at Valentine’s Day.
What exactly is the Advocare 24 Day Challenge?
Simply put, it’s a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jump start it needs to help you reach your goals.
There’s something for everyone, whether you are looking for weight management, energy, overall body composition, or body wellness. You will have access to a daily nutrition guide that will help you with water and food recommendations, along with healthy recipes that can be used in conjunction with the challenge food recommendations.
And yes, there is even an app for your phone to help keep you on track.

On Sunday we will have a group swim at Tatum Ranch Pool near the corner of Tatum and Cave Creek Roads. The swim will begin at 7:30 am and should last about an hour. I will be going over swim drills to help with your stroke as well as providing a quality swim workout for you. The group swim will be $5.00, please just let me know if you are interested in participating.

Classes take place at Windgate Ranch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Desert Willow Park on Tuesday and Thursday starting June 3rd. We will be offering two great summer specials again, pick which one suites your needs for the summer!
Remember Giant Strides is not your traditional boot camp that does full body every single time you come, even though your entire body gets a great workout we focus on specific body parts on specific days as well as incorporating plyometics and running into the routine. We typically do 3 different sets of exercises each day with varying sets and reps of each exercise.

Have you ever wanted to compete in your first half marathon or get a PR (Personal Record) in your next race? Well, Giant Strides is here to help you achieve just that! Racing season is upon us, and the San Diego Rock n’ Roll Marathon / Half Marathon is the next big race to prepare for.
Although the race is June 2nd, which seems like forever away, training will begin the first weekend in March. We offer racing plans for all runner levels, from the newbie to the veteran. When you sign up for the Giant Strides program you will receive a 12 week training plan as well as weekly long runs on Saturday with a group of at various locations around the area. Check the site for prices and schedules.
For those of you who already have a plan developed, you’re welcome to join out weekly runs which will begin in March.
We also wanted to remind everyone of the great special that we are running this month for new Giant Strides members. You can buy a one, two, or three month membership and get an extra month for free!
Last but not least, there will be a hike this weekend (2/15) at Gateway Trail Head located in the McDowell Mountain Preserve on Saturday morning. The hike will begin at 7:30 and will be a 7 mile hike through the beautiful McDowell Mountains. Sign up online and watch for the upcoming Hiking Club spring schedule.
